Role Overview
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to support production environments through maintenance, change control, and incident management. This role involves designing and developing significant application components, driving optimal solutions using established patterns, and ensuring compliance with information security and infrastructure standards. The position requires a proficient technical resource who can provide guidance, collaborate across teams, and lead the adoption of emerging technologies for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support production environments, including maintenance, change control, incident, and problem management.
- Design architecture and drive optimal solutions using established design patterns and principles.
- Ensure design reviews, code reviews, and compliance with security and infrastructure standards.
- Perform or support continuous integration and deployment activities with an understanding of DevOps and observability.
- Lead the adoption of emerging technologies for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
- Provide technical guidance for platform engineers and collaborate with solution architects.
- Coordinate dependencies across platform teams and teams working on business capabilities.
- Make recommendations to ensure the platform supports non-functional requirements and anticipated growth.
- Identify and assess complex problems that cross several infrastructure domains.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 15-20 years of experience in building and maintaining applications with a focus on performance, observability, scalability, security, and reliability. This includes 7+ years of experience overseeing enterprise-grade platform solutions and working in a highly Agile CI/CD environment.
Technical Skills:- Core Java, Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Mule, Web Services, Kafka, SQL & PL/SQL (Oracle).
- XML, JSON, and its usage within API and Microservice implementations.
- Cloud-native deployment using OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Experience with on-premises environments, containerized applications, and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Knowledge of application servers and integration technologies like Mule ESB, Any point Platform, MQ, and Kafka.
- Expertise with APM tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
- Familiarity with JBoss, Tomcat, Cucumber, Unix, DevOps tooling, Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
- Advanced knowledge of networking (firewalls, DNS, Load Balancing, Proxies) and Linux/Windows operating systems, including shell scripting.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- Proven ability to leverage infrastructure automation, DevOps, and cloud technologies.
- Experience implementing best practices, optimizing performance, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
