Pay Range: $64 - $73/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 database environments
- Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Ensure high availability and data integrity across DB2 systems
- Support database security, including access controls and compliance requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, locks, deadlocks, and failures
- Work closely with application development teams to support deployments, SQL tuning, and database design improvements
- Implement and maintain DB2 utilities, including RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, LOAD, and RECOVER
- Support change management, patching, and version upgrades
- Create and maintain database documentation and operational procedures
- Participate in on-call support rotation for production environments
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Must have skills: - Db2, DBA, Mainframe
- Strong hands-on experience as a DB2 DBA in enterprise environments
- Experience with DB2 performance tuning and monitoring tools
- Proficiency in SQL, database design, and query optimization
- Experience with backup/recovery and disaster recovery planning
- Familiarity with DB2 utilities and maintenance processes
- Strong understanding of database security and compliance practices
- Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues in production environments
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
