Description
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Strategic Sourcing Manager to work closely with internal stakeholders and procurement leadership to lead IT Infrastructure strategic sourcing initiatives. The role will engage proactively with business partners to support strategic priorities, drive expense reduction initiatives, and provide consultative support to resolve business challenges. The position will leverage data analysis to inform sourcing strategies and executive-level decision making.
A successful candidate will champion the development and execution of strategic sourcing strategies with a focus on optimizing spend, mitigating risk, maximizing savings, and ensuring quality and delivery. This role requires strong negotiation expertise, deep sourcing experience, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a global, matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the end-to-end strategic sourcing lifecycle, including supplier identification and selection, competitive sourcing, pricing negotiations, and contract red-lining in partnership with Legal for MSAs, Schedules, and SOWs.
Manage and coordinate cross-functional sourcing teams to execute complex sourcing initiatives.
Develop a strategic sourcing opportunities pipeline through competitive marketplace introduction, demand management, supplier consolidation, and process re-engineering.
Directly manage high-value sourcing engagements with varying levels of spend, risk, and complexity across the following categories: Mainframe technologies, Mainframe ISVs, Outsourced Data Center Operations service providers, Data Center technologies (Compute, Storage, Network), Telecom, and Software and professional services.
Align with business partners on sourcing strategy, timelines, and negotiation approach.
Communicate regularly with key stakeholders on project scope, status, risks, requirements, dependencies, and key issues.
Identify, quantify, and validate savings opportunities and work with business partners to achieve optimal cost reductions.
Conduct market analysis and scenario modeling to support strategic sourcing decision.
Evaluate existing sourcing and procurement procedures and present improvement recommendations to senior leadership.
Analyze procurement costs and develop actionable cost reduction strategies.
Drive purchasing decisions through cost analysis, market intelligence, and scenario modeling.
Negotiate commercial terms with strategic suppliers covering pricing, service levels, quality, and risk.
Collaborate with Procurement partners to identify and onboard new suppliers.
Conduct market research, cost forecasting, and demand analysis.
Assess sourcing and supplier risks and apply risk mitigation strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing within a related industry.
Proven experience leading complex IT infrastructure sourcing initiatives.
Strong analytical and process-driven mindset with the ability to use data to drive informed decisions.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in complex business situations.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and gain alignment from executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills across teams with competing priorities.
Strong supplier relationship management and conflict resolution capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to summarize complex initiatives and present effectively to executive audiences using PowerPoint.
Experience operating within a global, matrixed organization and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and proactively identify and resolve issues in collaboration with business leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience sourcing or managing vendors within mainframe, data center, telecom, and large-scale infrastructure environments.
Exposure to outsourced IT operations or managed services sourcing.
Experience working closely with Legal teams on complex contract negotiations.
Demonstrated history of delivering measurable cost savings and risk mitigation outcomes.
Prior experience in large enterprise or regulated industry environments.
