Job Description

We are seeking a Desktop Technician IV to provide onsite IT support at a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have experience with desktop support, imaging, networking, printer support, and customer service.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 3–5 years

Technical Duties

• Help set up and monitor data closet equipment, including servers and UPS.
• Monitor and report on general site health status, including data closet equipment, servers, network, and clients.
• Assist with running cables and provide guidance to the local team on cable runs and termination.
• Escort vendors within the site so they can perform maintenance tasks on data closet systems.
• Assist the site lead with server operations as needed.
• Set up new servers and clients according to documented processes.
• Perform standard maintenance tasks on clients and servers, including patches, agent installation, and incident troubleshooting.
• Maintain and document all network IDF changes and port mappings.
• Collaborate with plant staff to foster open communication with corporate IT and ensure all devices onsite are used in accordance with IT best practices.
• Position is 100% onsite, with the primary location being Mineral Point, WI, while also supporting additional sites in Stoughton and Janesville.

Technical Skills Desired

• Windows XP through 11 and Windows Server 2008 through 2019.
• Familiarity with antivirus systems, Active Directory, and basic Windows security settings.
• Basic understanding of network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, switching, and common network devices.
• Proficiency with common IT software such as MS Office, Telnet/Putty clients, Remote Desktop, and company online tools (Teams/SharePoint).
• Experience utilizing imaging software for computer backup and recovery.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for computer hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software-related issues.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Work independently and manage time effectively.
• Collaborate with technical support personnel and other teams as needed.

Work Location

Mineral Point, WI (100% Onsite)

The position will primarily support the Mineral Point location, with additional support required for the Stoughton and Janesville sites.
