Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Pay Rate: $31.80/hour
Schedule: 100% On-Site

Are you a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving technical challenges, supporting end users, and maintaining critical infrastructure? We're seeking a IT Infrastructure Support Technician to support technology operations across multiple manufacturing facilities. In this highly visible role, you'll be the go-to resource for desktop support, networking, server assistance, and infrastructure reliability, helping ensure seamless operations in a fast-paced production environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a customer-facing IT role and wants to expand their experience across desktop support, networking, server administration, and manufacturing technology.

Responsibilities
As the local IT support expert, you'll be responsible for maintaining and supporting both end-user and infrastructure technologies, including:
  • Provide desktop support, imaging, hardware deployment, and troubleshooting for end users.
  • Support printers, workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Monitor and maintain data closet equipment, servers, UPS systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Assist with server setup, upgrades, maintenance, and operational support.
  • Monitor site technology health and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform software installations, patching, agent deployments, and incident troubleshooting.
  • Assist with network cabling projects, cable runs, and cable termination best practices.
  • Document network infrastructure changes, IDF updates, and port mappings.
  • Coordinate and escort third-party vendors performing maintenance on IT systems.
  • Support multiple manufacturing locations while serving as a trusted technology partner to plant personnel.
  • Foster strong communication between plant operations and IT teams to ensure adherence to technology standards and best practices.

Technical skills desired:
  • Windows XP through 11, and server 2008 through 2019
  • Familiarity with antivirus systems, Active directory, and basic windows security settings
  • Have a basic understanding of network infrastructure including TCP/IP, switching, and common network devices.
  • Proficiency with common IT software such as MS OFFICE, Telnet/Putty clients, remote desktop, and Cummins online tools (Teams/SharePoint) is required. This also involves utilizing imaging software for computer backup and recovery.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in computer science or related field or equivalent
  • Training/Education required 8-10 years customer service related experience required Responsibility level

Required Skills
  • Strong ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
  • Strong mentoring skills with the ability to provide guidance, support, and constructive performance feedback.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software, including:
    • Configuration management software
    • Desktop communications software
    • Operating system software
    • Internet directory services software
  • Instruct and assign staff to provide technical support to designers, marketing and sales teams, suppliers, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the product development and implementation process.
  • Assign and oversee the testing and verification of hardware and supporting peripherals to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Oversee the build, testing, and modification of product prototypes using physical working models or computer-simulated theoretical models.
  • Direct staff to analyze user needs and recommend appropriate hardware solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of technicians, engineering designers, and other technical support personnel as needed.
