Role: Senior Mainframe Network System Programmer

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Network System Programmer (8–15 years experience) to maintain, support, and fine-tune network configurations within a z/OS Parallel Sysplex environment. This role requires a deep technical expert capable of handling TCP/IP stacks, VTAM definitions, and complex debugging using network packet tracing across multiple LPARs.
Key Responsibilities
* Network Configuration: Install, configure, and customize Mainframe Network systems, specifically focusing on TCP/IP stacks (PROFILE, PORT) and VTAM (APPN, PU/LU definitions).
* Policy Management: Manage and configure PAGENT (Policy Agent) for network policies, including encryption and security protocols.
* Connectivity & Hardware: OSA configuration/tuning and Enterprise Extender (EE) support to facilitate SNA traffic over IP.
* Sysplex Administration: Manage Sysplex Distributor and VIPA (Virtual IP Address) configurations for high availability and workload balancing.
* Problem Analysis: Conduct deep-dive debugging and performance fine-tuning using IPTRACE, NETSTAT, and packet tracing.
* Security: Implement and maintain network encryption and security policies within the z/OS Communication Server.
Required Qualifications
* 8–15 years of experience in Mainframe Network System Programming/Administration.
* Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of z/OS Communication Server (SNA and TCP/IP) in multiple LPAR environments.
* Core Tools: Proficiency in TSO/ISPF, TN3270, and OSA configurations.
* Architecture: Hands-on experience with Parallel Sysplex environments and Sysplex Distributor.
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
