About the Role
Our firm is partnering with a leading North American distribution and e-commerce organization to identify a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer. This role will support the development of high-quality software solutions that power large-scale business operations, distribution networks, and customer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will be passionate about test automation, software quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced technology environment.
Job Description
As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions that enhance the quality, reliability, and performance of web, mobile, and API-based applications. Working closely with software engineers, product teams, and IT stakeholders, you will help establish testing best practices and drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for web, API, and mobile applications using modern automation tools and technologies.
  • Develop automated test scripts using JavaScript, TypeScript, and related frameworks.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and technical teams to define testing strategies, create test cases, and improve application reliability.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid feedback.
  • Execute automated and manual test plans, analyze results, and partner with development teams to troubleshoot defects.
  • Monitor test execution, track quality metrics, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain documentation for test frameworks, test cases, and quality assurance processes.
  • Provide recommendations to improve software quality, testing efficiency, and release readiness.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Automation Engineering or software test automation.
  • Hands-on experience developing automated test frameworks and test scripts for web, API, and/or mobile applications.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, TestComplete, or similar technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of API testing, SQL, Git, and Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience integrating automated testing within CI/CD environments using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
  • Ability to analyze defects, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document testing processes and results.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications within distribution, logistics, e-commerce, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
  • Exposure to cloud-based development and testing environments.
  • Experience with test management and quality tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of performance, regression, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous quality engineering principles.
  • Relevant software testing or quality assurance certifications.
