About the Role
Our firm is recruiting on behalf of a leading North American distribution and e-commerce organization that supports complex technology platforms serving customers, operations, and internal business functions. This role offers the opportunity to help advance quality engineering practices by developing scalable automated testing solutions that improve software reliability, performance, and user experience across web, API, and mobile applications.
As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, you will work closely with software developers, product teams, and QA professionals to design and maintain automated testing frameworks, integrate testing within CI/CD pipelines, and drive continuous improvement in software quality.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for web, API, and mobile applications using Playwright.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish QA automation best practices and create comprehensive test cases that enhance application reliability and performance.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid feedback throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Execute automated and manual testing activities, analyze results, and partner with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
  • Document automation frameworks, test strategies, and testing outcomes, providing data-driven recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Contribute to ongoing enhancements of testing processes, tools, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience in QA Automation Engineering or Software Test Automation.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation solutions using Playwright.
  • Experience programming with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and automation best practices.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, API testing, Git version control, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or a similar test management, work tracking, or CI/CD platform.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and testing results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred
  • Experience testing mobile applications and modern web platforms.
  • Experience building and maintaining automated testing within enterprise-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and continuous quality engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with performance, regression, and end-to-end testing strategies.
  • Experience working within cloud-based development environments.
  • Relevant software testing or automation certifications.
