Job Description:
  • Plans, and execute strategic initiatives that support university-wide strategic priorities to advance career design, experiential learning, and post-graduation student success. For example, the incumbent will partner with the Office of the University Registrar, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and UF Information Technology to guide the development, governance, and evolution of the UF Comprehensive Learner Record, the Gator Experience Record (GER). Work across the university ecosystem as the technology systems administrator to establish standards and structures for the collection, validation, elevation and integration of co-curricular and curricular experiential learning activities, ensuring the GER reflects a comprehensive representation of student engagement across the university. Measures success through year-over-year growth in both the volume and variety of student experiential learning data offerings and unique users captured within the program. Ensures increased representation of the quality of co-curricular experiential learning activities and growth in the number of departments and programs contributing data. Evaluates system functionality and leads recommendations that strengthen scalability, reporting capacity, and alignment with institutional priorities. (40%)
  • Serves as a point of contact for faculty and staff in the Division portfolio and campus to support initiatives to aid student success, departmental goals, experiential learning, professional development engagements, and post-graduation outcomes. This support includes outreach presentations, workshops, office support hours, and other efforts. Creates internal resources and delivers training that equips faculty and staff to effectively integrate assigned initiatives into programs, workshops, and 1:1 engagement. Builds relationships and creates connections across departments to advance the university's overall mission. Maintains regular communication with portfolio partners and across the ecosystem through appropriate channels and attends meetings with staff at all levels for the exchange of information and integration into programs and services. Establishes internal best practices, and support to students, faculty staff and other stakeholders, and recommends system enhancements based on data and user feedback. (25%)
  • Tracks data and reporting related to job functions and engagement responsibilities. Maintains and exchanges quantitative and qualitative data for assessment, reporting, usage, service participation, and reporting purposes to demonstrate impact for departments. Creates regular reporting structures and summaries to highlight trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and support decision-making for leadership. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of career development trends and best practices. Leads the management and submission of experiential learning data for CIP departments to ensure accurate and comprehensive representation on the GER, including initiatives. Supports the university's visibility and impact regarding the student experience. Manages vendor relationships for assigned technologies, ensuring proper implementation of system updates, monitoring system health, and promoting data-informed usage best practices. (20%)
  • Provides individual and group career coaching services to University of Florida undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from all majors and colleges; at times also supporting alumni. Facilitate career education workshops, classroom presentations, and tabling opportunities associated with the assigned initiative area and related career development topics in support of the center's strategic plan. Engages with campus partners (i.e., alumni, staff, faculty, employers, families) to promote student success, interventions, readiness tools and professional development programming. Use existing foundational, departmental and marketing resources for customization of programs and initiatives, as needed . (10%)
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the Director and higher authorities in the department and division. Attends departmental sessions, staff meetings and one-on-one supervision meetings to ensure clear communication with colleagues and supervisors. Support department, portfolio, and/or division-wide all-hands-on-deck events, committees and programs. Lives out unit and institutional values in all aspects of job function. (5%)

Expected Salary:
$60,000.00-62,000.00

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
EXPERIENCE:

- Two (2) years of experience (minimum) in career development, career counseling, or HR

- Experience working with varied college student populations

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of career services, campus marketing, and outreach strategies

SKILLS:

- Skilled in computer applications

- Facilitative skills

- Interpersonal skills

- Good presentations skills

ABILITIES: Ability to work independently and as part of team
