Summary

An innovative product development and engineering consulting firm is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex product development programs for clients across robotics, medical devices, industrial automation, and advanced technology industries.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, helping bring cutting-edge products from concept through commercialization. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for clients while coordinating engineering, industrial design, quality, manufacturing, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest level of quality.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of Project Management, Technical Program Management, or Engineering Leadership experience.
  • 4+ years working on multidisciplinary product development teams.
  • Strong understanding of the complete product development lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing and commercialization.
  • Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams including:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Embedded Software
    • Industrial Design
    • Quality
    • Manufacturing
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to understand technical challenges and communicate effectively with both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • PMP Certification or equivalent Project Management certification.
  • Experience managing robotics, automation, medical device, or other complex hardware development programs.
  • Experience working within engineering consulting or product development organizations.
  • Familiarity with Design Controls, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and regulated product development.
  • Experience supporting proposal development, Statements of Work (SOWs), and client presentations.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, project financial management, and resource planning.
  • Experience identifying new business opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Stage-Gate, or hybrid product development methodologies.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Lead multiple product development programs from project kickoff through successful delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build strong client relationships while ensuring projects meet technical, financial, and schedule expectations.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and external vendors to deliver innovative products.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk assessments.
  • Track project progress and communicate status updates through dashboards, reports, and executive presentations.
  • Facilitate project meetings, engineering reviews, and stakeholder communications.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project profitability and ensure effective resource utilization.
  • Support proposal development and project planning for new client opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality processes and client quality requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution and delivery.
