Network / System Engineer III

Location: Jacksonville, Florida (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 10 months

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mac Systems Engineer with experience in large-scale, security-focused environments. The ideal candidate will deliver secure, automated, and resilient Mac management solutions. This role requires strong communication skills, systems thinking, and the ability to partner with product owners, developers, and security specialists to deliver a hardened, enterprise-ready Mac platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, deploy, and support secure macOS environments adhering to enterprise security, compliance, and privacy standards.
  • Implement and maintain device hardening, configuration baselines, security controls, and compliance reporting using frameworks like CIS benchmarks and NIST guidance.
  • Manage and optimize large Mac fleets using tools such as JAMF Pro, VMware Workspace ONE, or InTune.
  • Develop and execute deployment plans for OS upgrades, application rollouts, and configuration changes.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues related to macOS, networking, authentication, and application performance.
  • Use scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby) to automate workflows and enforce policies.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of DNS, certificates, directory services, Kerberos, and 802.1X.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of experience supporting and securing macOS in enterprise or highly regulated environments.

Technical Skills:
  • Expertise with MDM/EMM tools such as JAMF Pro (Casper Suite), Workspace ONE, or InTune.
  • Knowledge of macOS security best practices, software packaging, and automated deployment.
  • Understanding of DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Kerberos, and 802.1X.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, Swift, or Go.
  • Proficiency with remote tools including SSH, VNC, and RDC.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical decision-making ability.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
  • JAMF Certified Casper Administrator (CCA) or JAMF Certified Casper Technician (CCT)
