The manager will drive technical issue resolution, track critical milestones, ensure material readiness, identify schedule risks, and provide executive-level visibility into project performance. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between detailed technical discussions and senior leadership conversations, translating complex project challenges into actionable recommendations. Success in this role is defined by proactive risk identification, stakeholder alignment, and on-time delivery of critical transmission infrastructure projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide technical and execution support for transmission line and substation projects related to data center load integration, generation interconnections, and grid expansion initiatives
  • Interpret transmission and substation standards, technical requirements, and engineering deliverables while supporting implementation across project teams
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, project management, construction, project controls, operations, and supply chain organizations to ensure successful project delivery
  • Track and manage project risks, technical issues, dependencies, milestones, and critical path activities to meet required in-service dates
  • Partner with engineering and supply chain teams to identify long-lead equipment requirements and improve material readiness for transmission projects
  • Validate material-required dates and proactively address procurement, availability, and schedule risks
  • Develop project analyses, dashboards, executive presentations, risk summaries, status reports, and process improvement recommendations
  • Evaluate project schedules, construction sequencing, operations impacts, and execution risks across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Facilitate issue resolution between stakeholders and elevate critical concerns with recommended mitigation strategies
  • Provide clear communication and project updates to managers, senior leadership, and executive stakeholders
  • Support implementation of transmission standards and best practices across project portfolios
  • Assist with strategic planning efforts related to transmission infrastructure expansion and delivery
WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Experience managing electric utility transmission projects
  • Strong knowledge of transmission lines, substations, and utility infrastructure project execution
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and project information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience identifying project risks, dependencies, constraints, and mitigation strategies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across engineering, project management, construction, operations, and supply chain
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on critical project milestones and in-service commitments
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with transmission project engineering, substation engineering, or substation design (preferred)
  • Experience managing large, complex transmission capital projects (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of transmission operations, construction sequencing, scheduling, and project controls (preferred)
  • Experience supporting material readiness efforts for long-lead transmission and substation equipment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of major transmission components such as transformers, breakers, relays, switches, conductor, and structural steel (preferred)
  • Experience with large customer load growth initiatives, data center interconnections, generation interconnections, or EPC-driven utility projects (preferred)
  • Experience using Primavera P6, Maximo, EcoSys, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint (preferred)
  • PMP or other recognized project management certification (preferred)
  • Experience developing executive-level project reporting, dashboards, and presentations (preferred)
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Serves as a trusted technical and project resource capable of connecting engineering, scheduling, materials, operations, and business objectives
  • Proactively identifies project risks, inconsistencies, and execution challenges before they impact delivery
  • Drives alignment across stakeholders and functions to improve project execution and schedule performance
  • Provides leadership with clear, concise, and actionable project insights and recommendations
  • Successfully supports on-time delivery of critical transmission infrastructure projects while maintaining strong coordination across the organization
