Role Overview
This role offers an opportunity to merge accounting expertise with system testing leadership. The position involves driving user acceptance testing (UAT) and functional quality assurance for backend finance systems. The successful candidate will ensure that critical financial data is tested, validated, and delivered through a next-generation platform, confirming that all accounting logic aligns with business and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the functional QA and UAT efforts for backend finance and accounting systems.
- Partner with accounting and technology teams to define test strategies and resolve defects.
- Translate accounting requirements into actionable test plans and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of journal entry generation through comprehensive testing.
- Troubleshoot and triage accounting-related system defects, coordinating with technical and non-technical teams.
- Monitor and report on testing progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement in system testing and accounting processes.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A proven background in accounting operations, systems implementation, or program management is required. Candidates must possess hands-on experience with QA, UAT, or functional system testing, along with a functional understanding of testing for accounting systems. Familiarity with financial systems, journal processes, and accounting flows is necessary. Exposure to Oracle Financial Applications (OFA) is a mandatory requirement.
Skills: The ability to translate business processes into test scenarios and communicate effectively with both technical and accounting stakeholders is essential. Candidates should understand how journal information is gathered and its importance in financial systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
- Prior involvement in large-scale system rollouts or finance transformation initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $75.00 and $80.00 per hour. Contract duration is through the end of September, with a likelihood of extension.
