Job Overview:

Requirement/Must Have:

• Bachelor s or Associate s degree in plant science, biological science, genetics, horticulture, biotechnology, or a related field.
• Knowledge and experience in general laboratory operations.
• Ability to follow established protocols and procedures accurately.
• Ability to conduct experiments independently and collect reliable data.
• Strong record-keeping skills with the ability to maintain complete, accurate, and timely experimental records.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Commitment to maintaining a high-quality laboratory environment and adhering to lab safety practices.

Experience:

• Laboratory experience is preferred.
• Experience with plant tissue culture and transformation is preferred but not required.
• Experience in crop transformation or genome editing experiments is preferred.
• Experience with sampling, data collection, and detailed record keeping.
• Experience with databases and/or laboratory information management systems is a plus.
• Experience supporting process improvement or new technology development studies is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out crop transformation or genome editing experiments and collect data from experiments.
• Conduct transformation and genome editing experiments according to established protocols.
• Document experimental data accurately in database systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement of established methods to improve overall system metrics.
• Support new technology development or process improvement studies, including experimental planning, hypothesis testing, observations, data collection, and analysis.
• Follow the direction of supervisors and other team members in executing experiments and related activities.
• Follow company safety policies, protocols, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in team support activities such as explant preparation, equipment maintenance, media assessment or improvement, culture room maintenance, process improvement, and information management.
• Provide technical support and conduct experiments with a respectful, collaborative, and positive team spirit.
• Provide summaries and reports to supervisors.
• Present results within internal or external meetings when necessary.

Should Have:

• Plant tissue culture and transformation experience preferred.
• Experience with databases and/or laboratory information management systems preferred.
• Experience in process improvement or technology development studies preferred.
• Strong analytical and observational skills preferred.
