Summary

Remedi Electronic Commerce Group has a client seeking an experienced Gentran iSeries EDI consultant for a long-term, full-time engagement focused on supporting and stabilizing a critical transportation EDI environment.

The Challenge

Our client, a U.S.-based transportation and logistics organization, operates a mature Gentran iSeries EDI platform that supports core business operations. They require a senior consultant to take ownership of day-to-day EDI processing, support trading partner activity, and ensure operational continuity within a high-volume, transaction-driven environment. This role is hands-on and operational in nature, not advisory or project management focused.

The Work

Provide day-to-day mapping, partner onboarding, support, and maintenance of the Gentran iSeries EDI environment
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve EDI transaction and data flow issues
Support and maintain X12 transactions including 204, 210, 211, 214, 820, 990, and 997
Coordinate with internal teams and external trading partners to resolve issues and support onboarding activities
Ensure consistent and reliable transaction processing across the EDI ecosystem
Document processes and support knowledge continuity within the environment
Participate in future planning efforts related to potential EDI platform evolution (including SI or similar)

This is a delivery-focused role requiring a consultant who can independently manage a production EDI environment with minimal oversight.

The Outcome

A successful consultant will stabilize, improve, and maintain ongoing EDI operations, ensure reliable transaction processing, and support the client’s ability to meet business growth and partner requirements without disruption. Over time, this role will also contribute to continuity and potential future platform direction.

The Ideal Consultant

Extensive hands-on experience with IBM Gentran iSeries
Strong working knowledge of X12 transactions, particularly within transportation/logistics environments
Experience supporting transportation industry related EDI transactions and workflows
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve EDI issues in a production setting
Comfortable working independently in a long-term consulting engagement
Strong communication skills when working with business users and trading partners
Exposure to IBM Sterling Integrator (SI) is a plus

Additional Details

Job Type: Remote Contract - Must reside within North America
Start Date: Immediate
Workload: 40 hours/week Monday through Friday
Duration: Long Term
