Job Title: EDI Analyst / Developer – Gentran for AS/400 (IBM)

Duration: 6 months
Role Summary
Urgent need for a hands-on EDI specialist with strong Gentran experience on AS/400 (IBM iSeries) to support production issues, mapping, and onboarding new trading partners. You’ll work directly with business and IT stakeholders to keep EDI data flowing and troubleshoot time-sensitive failures.
Key Responsibilities
• Support, monitor, and troubleshoot daily EDI transactions in Gentran for AS/400 / IBM i
• Develop and modify EDI maps for ANSI X12 standards: 850, 855, 810, 856, 940, 945, 997, etc.
• Onboard new trading partners: requirements gathering, spec review, mapping, testing, and go-live
• Work with AS/400 native tools: CL, RPG, DB2/400 files, and Gentran data manager
• Partner with internal teams and VANs/partners to resolve failed transmissions and data issues
• Document maps, trading partner setups, and support procedures
• Assist with migration/upgrade initiatives if needed
Required Skills
• 5+ years hands-on EDI experience with Gentran for AS/400 / IBM i
• Strong knowledge of ANSI X12 EDI documents and business processes: Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Warehouse
• AS/400 skills: CL programming, WRKJOB, WRKSPLF, DB2/400 queries, FTP/SFTP
• Experience with VANs, AS2, and EDI communication protocols
• Ability to read raw EDI data and troubleshoot mapping/translation errors independently
• Available to start immediately and work US business hours
