As an intern, you'll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to assist our growing traffic, roadway lighting, and ITS groups. Candidates should be technical thinkers with beginner level experience with design/construction. Must be able to work collaboratively with a team of engineers and designers at all levels to deliver quality plans to clients. Position will be based out of our Nashville office.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CAD drafting
  • Assist in engineering design
  • Assist in developing engineering estimates
  • Assist with deliveries or field work
  • Assist in ITS and Traffic planning and analysis
  • Other entry level engineering duties, as needed

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation software preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of data governance and data management
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to work independently and in a group
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively at a fast pace
  • Willingness to learn new skills and interface collaboratively with a large and experienced team across all levels and disciplines
  • Self-motivated

Education and Experience
  • College class work in Civil Engineering and current status as Engineering student working towards a bachelor's degree.

Typical office environment working with computers and a dynamic group of engineers. Field work may be required, and appropriate training and safety equipment will be provided.

About the Team

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year.
