Position Overview
Direct Client is seeking a hands-on Network Security Engineer with strong experience in F5 BIG-IP, Palo Alto Networks, and security monitoring. The role involves managing enterprise network security infrastructure, monitoring security events, troubleshooting incidents, and ensuring secure and highly available environments.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and troubleshoot F5 BIG-IP/LTM, including Virtual Servers, Pools, Health Monitors, iRules, SNAT, SSL offloading, and load balancing.
Configure and manage Palo Alto NGFW, including security policies, NAT, VPN, App-ID, URL filtering, threat prevention, and SSL decryption.
Manage Palo Alto Panorama for centralized firewall administration.
Monitor firewall, F5, network, and security logs for suspicious activity and potential threats.
Investigate and respond to security alerts, incidents, and anomalous network traffic.
Work with SOC teams on SIEM monitoring, threat investigation, incident response, and remediation.
Perform security event analysis, log correlation, and root-cause analysis.
Identify and escalate potential security breaches, vulnerabilities, and policy violations.
Support firewall rule reviews, security policy optimization, and network security hardening.
Troubleshoot complex network and application connectivity issues.
Perform F5/Palo Alto upgrades, migrations, configuration changes, and maintenance.
Support network segmentation, routing, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP, and enterprise security architecture.
Collaborate with SOC, Network, Cloud, Infrastructure, and Application teams.
Maintain security documentation, incident reports, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Network Security/Network Engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP/LTM.
Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewall/PAN-OS.
Experience with Panorama; F5 ASM/AWAF is preferred.
Experience with SIEM/security monitoring and incident response.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, VPN, routing, VLANs, and network security.
Experience troubleshooting production environments.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Certifications: PCNSE, F5 certifications, CCNP, CISSP, Security+, AWS/Azure certifications.
