Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python API Developer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role will focus on the design, development, and end-to-end implementation of a new GenAI platform. The ideal candidate will develop architectural approaches for AI software, build high-performance APIs using Python and FastAPI, and collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to deliver technical solutions. This position requires 3 days onsite per week.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and oversee end-to-end implementation of a new GenAI platform and its related business use cases
- Develop architectural approaches for AI software and hardware integration with emphasis on quality, performance, resiliency, and reusability
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand and fulfill business needs and objectives
- Lead cross-disciplinary teams to deliver technical solutions that align with business priorities and expectations
- Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
- Establish standards and lead the charge on automation for end-to-end SDLC efficiency
- Mentor team members in technical design and development best practices
- Drive platform performance, scalability, and resiliency testing
- Implement hardware upgrades and software enhancements to meet global performance expectations
- Address regulatory and performance-driven requirements for regional/localization of infrastructure platform
- Conduct research and prototyping to evaluate and identify new solutions to enhance platform and team capabilities
- Monitor AI industry trends and stay abreast of advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science to continuously innovate and improve solutions
Requirements: - Experience in developing High-performance APIs using FastAPI & Python
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles
- Proficiency in asynchronous programming
- Knowledge of API Gateway concepts, including routing, throttling, and request/response transformations
- Experience in distributed caching, using Redis, etc
- Familiarity with message queues for distributed systems
- Familiarity in CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
- Strong adherence to writing enterprise-grade coding standards
- Proficiency in writing modular, reusable, and testable code
- Familiarity with design patterns (e.g., Factory, Singleton, Dependency Injection)
- Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
Desired skills: - Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Familiarity with streaming APIs and WebSocket protocols
- Experience with profiling tools for identifying bottlenecks
- Proficiency in OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing, metrics, and logs
- Experience with Splunk and Dynatrace for log aggregation and performance monitoring
- Familiarity with environment-specific configurations and secrets management
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
