JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced DBA Senior Consultant with 10+ years of experience in data development, cloud technologies, and database administration. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in AWS PostgreSQL architecture, particularly serverless PostgreSQL, database performance optimization, and heterogeneous database migration. Experience with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Terraform, ETL processes, and medallion architecture is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and support cloud-based data solutions using AWS and PostgreSQL.
• Implement and maintain ETL processes following medallion architecture principles.
• Use AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for database migration activities.
• Design, configure, and manage PostgreSQL architecture on AWS, especially serverless deployments.
• Perform PostgreSQL database administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks through query optimization and configuration improvements.
• Execute heterogeneous database migrations, including schema conversion, data migration, and validation.
• Develop and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Ensure database availability, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and application teams to deliver migration and modernization initiatives.
• Apply strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical challenges.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of experience as a Data Developer, Database Engineer, or DBA with cloud technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with PostgreSQL architecture on AWS, particularly Amazon Aurora Serverless or other serverless PostgreSQL solutions.
• Strong PostgreSQL DBA skills, including database administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance improvement.
• General ETL knowledge and understanding of medallion architecture.
• Practical experience with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (AWS SCT).
• Hands-on experience with AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
• Experience performing heterogeneous database migrations.
• Strong Terraform experience for creating, provisioning, and managing AWS services.
• Knowledge of database schema conversion, migration validation, and data integrity.
• Excellent decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• AWS certifications related to database, cloud architecture, or data engineering.
• Databricks certification or hands-on Databricks experience.
• Experience with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL and serverless database architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud database modernization and migration best practices.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and automated cloud provisioning.

GOOD TO HAVE:

• Experience with large-scale enterprise database migration projects.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL high availability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Familiarity with cloud monitoring, database observability, and performance optimization tools.
• Exposure to Databricks and modern cloud data platforms.
