Summary

AEM Developer

Our client is seeking an Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Developer to build and enhance enterprise-level digital experiences using Adobe Experience Manager and modern front-end technologies. This role combines back-end AEM development with front-end expertise to deliver scalable, responsive, and accessible web applications while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has strong experience with AEM Sites, HTL/Sightly, Java, JavaScript frameworks, REST APIs, and Agile development practices.


Daily Tasks & Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications and digital experiences using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • Build reusable AEM components, templates, dialogs, and workflows using Touch UI, HTL/Sightly, Granite UI, and Coral UI.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, designers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop responsive, mobile-first user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Integrate AEM applications with RESTful APIs and enterprise services.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established development standards and design patterns.
  • Test, troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications for performance, accessibility, and SEO.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Review peer code and provide constructive feedback through pull requests.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on emerging Adobe Experience Cloud technologies and front-end development best practices.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience developing solutions with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • 2+ years of experience working with enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • 2+ years of experience developing web-based applications.
  • Experience building AEM templates, components, dialogs, and configuring the AEM Web Console.
  • Strong knowledge of HTL/Sightly, Touch UI, Granite UI, and Coral UI.
  • Experience developing with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
  • Experience integrating applications using RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud products including Sites, Assets, Forms, Commerce, Analytics, Mobile Services, or LiveCycle.
  • Experience with React, Angular, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Knowledge of component-based architecture and Atomic Design principles.
  • Experience with responsive, mobile-first development and accessibility (WCAG) best practices.
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors including Sass, SCSS, or LESS.
  • Familiarity with Git and GitFlow workflows.
  • Experience using Webpack or similar front-end build tools.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.
  • Knowledge of linting, code quality tools, and automated pre-commit checks.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar automation tools.
  • Understanding of web performance optimization methodologies such as RAIL and PRPL.
  • Working knowledge of Java server-side development.
  • Previous experience in a consulting, agency, or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, communications, or advertising technologies.
