Robotics Lab Technician
Robotics Lab Technicians will help stand up the lab (hardware installation, station bring-up, and infrastructure buildout) and then own day-to-day upkeep, troubleshooting, and repairs once the lab is running at full scale.
Robotics experience is helpful but not required. What matters most is strong attention to detail, comfort working with tools, and the ability to follow procedures precisely.
Lab buildout
Assemble and install lab equipment and test stations (benches, robots, cameras, PCs, wiring, peripherals).
Route and label cables cleanly and consistently according to documented standards.
Help bring new stations online: basic setup and simple functional checks.
Organize tools, parts, and inventory so the lab is easy to navigate and maintain.
Update build logs, checklists, and tracking sheets as work is completed.
Ongoing lab operations & maintenance
Perform daily/weekly inspections to catch issues early (loose connections, wear, damaged components, misalignment).
Triage basic hardware issues (loose cables, failed peripherals, simple swaps) and escalate more complex problems.
Replace and repair components under guidance (cables, brackets, fixtures, sensors, etc.).
Keep stations tidy and ready for operators: reset workcells, restock consumables, handle minor adjustments.
Follow safety procedures and lock-out/tag-out practices when working on equipment.
Document all work for traceability.
What we're looking for
Must-have
Strong attention to detail: you notice when something is misaligned, mislabeled, or out of spec and you fix it.
Hands-on experience with tools (e.g., screwdrivers, hex keys, torque drivers, basic power tools).
Ability to follow detailed procedures, checklists, and build instructions accurately.
Comfort working around electromechanical systems (cables, power supplies, sensors, moving hardware).
Clear written and verbal communication; you keep others informed about issues and changes.
Reliability and ownership mindset: you take responsibility for your stations and follow through on tasks.
Nice to have
Experience in any of: robotics, automation, hardware labs, manufacturing, test engineering, or similar environments.
Basic familiarity with mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, or assembly instructions.
Experience with 3D printers, test equipment, or lab measurement tools.
Basic troubleshooting skills for PCs and peripherals (USB devices, networking, cameras, etc.).
