Senior Full Stack Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a technology-driven organization in Lansing, MI, is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Java Developer to contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise-grade applications. This role is suited for a technically strong engineer who brings a practical problem-solving mindset, strong analytical ability, and clear communication skills in collaborative development environments.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications using Java-based backend technologies and modern frontend frameworks
* Build and support enterprise services using Java/J2EE and related frameworks
* Optimize application performance through JVM analysis, profiling, and tuning
* Develop and maintain RESTful services and integration layers
* Work with relational databases to create, optimize, and maintain queries, procedures, and data structures
* Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and deliver reliable solutions
* Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical direction for ongoing initiatives
* Support code quality, maintainability, and performance best practices across the development lifecycle

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in full stack application development
* Strong proficiency in Core Java/J2EE
* Advanced understanding of JVM internals, profiling, and performance tuning
* Experience with the Spring Framework
* Frontend development experience with Angular, TypeScript, and Node.js
* Solid knowledge of HTML and CSS
* Experience developing services using Jersey or similar REST frameworks
* Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills
* Hands-on experience with Oracle databases
* Strong analytical reasoning and critical thinking skills
* Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and work effectively in team settings

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Unix or shell scripting
* Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker
* Experience with caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached
* Exposure to authentication protocols such as SAML

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
