Description
We are looking for a creative and motivated Social Media Associate to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing social media strategies to amplify our organization's initiatives on a national and local level. This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established organization while contributing to innovative digital engagement efforts.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and others to enhance brand visibility.
Monitor and manage social media interactions by responding to comments and engaging with followers regularly.
Create comprehensive toolkits to support key national events, campaigns, and programs.
Provide guidance and support to local offices on effective social media practices.
Analyze social media performance metrics, report findings, and track relevant hashtags to optimize engagement.
Build and maintain a growing database of social media influencers to expand outreach.
Manage advertising campaigns, including boosting strategies, and prepare detailed performance reports.
Collaborate closely with senior communication leaders to align social media tactics with broader organizational goals.
Offer administrative and technical support for communication initiatives, ensuring smooth execution of social media activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Proven creativity and experience in social media management, with the ability to share examples of past work.
Strong understanding of content marketing principles and expertise in sourcing, developing, and publishing engaging content.
Ability to balance creative marketing strategies with analytical thinking to ensure measurable outcomes.
Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and their applications for organizational needs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas effectively.
Technical proficiency with social media tools and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) principles and their integration with social media strategies.
