Job Description

β€’ VM SHOP

β€’ Hyper V Architecture Expertise β€” LFG is moving off Broadcom and needs someone
who can design and stand up an entire Hyper V environment from scratch. They
currently have no in house Hyper V expert.

β€’ True

β€’ Hyper V SME β€” This person must be the senior most Hyper V resource on the
team, able to lead, advise, and make architectural decisions.

β€’ Remote Contract Through EOY β€” Likely extension into next year.

β€’ Self Guided & Independent β€” Must be able to work with minimal direction,
document everything, and train both the ops team and internal engineers.

β€’ Documentation & Knowledge Transfer β€” Expected to produce technical
documentation, maintenance guides, and walk the team through the new
environment.

β€’ GitLab Pipelines Experience β€” Team uses GitLab CI/CD pipelines for PowerShell
automation.

β€’ Cluster & DR Expertise β€” Must know how to build and operate Hyper V
clusters and design disaster recovery workflows. DR is a major priority for
LFG.

β€’ Two Round Interview Process

o Round 1: Soft skills / personality β€” they need someone polished, confident,
and able to lead.

o Round 2: Deep technical interview.

β€’ Interviews ASAP β€” Target July start after interviews, background check, and
equipment shipment.

β€’ Windows Admin Background Acceptable β€” As long as the candidate is a Hyper V
SME.

β€’ On Prem Hyper V Required β€” Azure experience is a plus, but on prem Hyper V is
mandatory since LFG does not yet have Azure access

JD from LFG – would focus on notes form above

7+ years experience; Installs new software releases and system upgrades,
evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems.
Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system
configuration to ensure data integrity.



You''ll be responsible for:

Designing and deploying Hyper-V with WSFC, Live Migration, Hyper-V Replica, and
SCVMM

Integrating with Cisco MDS SAN fabric and Dell PowerMax 8000 storage

Configuring backup/recovery via Dell PowerProtect Data Manager

Migrating select workloads from VMware to Hyper-V

Building PowerShell automation and infrastructure-as-code workflows

Designing DR/failover between Ashburn (primary) and Chicago (BCDR)

Delivering architecture docs, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge transfer



What you bring:



7+ years with Microsoft Hyper-V in enterprise environments

Expert-level WSFC, SCVMM, and Windows Server 2019/2022/2025

Strong Fibre Channel SAN experience (Cisco MDS preferred)

PowerShell automation proficiency

Multi-datacenter HA/DR design experience

US-based, able to pass a background check



Bonus points for:

VMware-to-Hyper-V migration experience | Azure hybrid (Arc, ASR, Azure Stack
HCI) | Dell MX platform | Financial services/regulated industry background |
Ansible or Terraform
