Software Analyst - Intermediate

Software analyst supports sustainment of legacy DoD IT systems in an Agile development environment. Functions as part of Tier 2 team providing support for user issues. Key job duties include:

·         Provides analysis, design, documentation, and testing on a complex DOD Java system. 

·         Meets with users to determine and troubleshoot system issues and bugs

·         Develops, analyzes, prioritizes, and organizes requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow

·         Conducts testing of developed solutions and documents results, diagrams, and flow charts, to determine if applications will perform according to user requirement and conform to guidelines

·         Provides documentation of all processes and training as needed

·         Develops ad hoc SQL queries

·         Troubleshoot system, data, or process problems

Skills and Abilities

·         Experience working with stakeholders on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues

·         Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.

·         Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.

·         Must have SQL skills

·         Know how to perform functional testing and keep track of new application changes

·         Be able to use issue tracking software to track and report problems

·         Excellent analytical skills

·         Very strong attention to detail

Basic Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field required

·         8+ years of experience with IT systems development

·         Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies

Additional Qualifications:

·         Experience with DoD systems development a plus

·         Knowledge of FMS system a plus

·         Knowledge of Security Cooperation a plus

·         Secret Security Clearance
