IT Infrastructure Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead the stability, security, and performance of enterprise technology environments supporting transportation operations in Cleveland, Ohio. This role will oversee core infrastructure across on-premises and cloud platforms, ensuring reliable service delivery, resilient systems, and strong operational controls. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on leadership style, a strong background in infrastructure administration, and the ability to strengthen technical processes while partnering effectively with internal stakeholders and external providers.

Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, deployment, support, and retirement of infrastructure components that are critical to day-to-day IT operations.

Oversee the health and availability of physical and virtual environments, including host systems, virtual machines, and enterprise storage platforms.

Manage cloud-based infrastructure across platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services to maintain performance, scalability, and uptime.

Coordinate response efforts for physical security events, escalating issues appropriately and ensuring required incident documentation is shared with relevant parties.

Administer backup and storage solutions to protect business data and support recovery objectives.

Direct vendor and contractor partnerships to ensure effective operational support, service quality, and timely issue resolution.

Establish and maintain disaster recovery capabilities that support business continuity and reduce operational risk.

Promote infrastructure best practices by improving processes, performance metrics, and operational standards across the environment.

Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to address security concerns, operational needs, and long-term infrastructure priorities.

Investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure leadership, systems administration, or a closely related technical management role.
Strong expertise with VMware environments, including virtualization infrastructure, host management, and virtual machine administration.
Hands-on experience supporting cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure and Azure Active Directory; familiarity with AWS is highly valued.
Solid knowledge of backup technologies, storage platforms, configuration management, and business continuity practices.
Experience working with Cisco technologies, computer hardware, and enterprise infrastructure support in a production environment.
Understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Citrix technologies within an enterprise setting.
Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and drive operational improvements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance security, reliability, and service delivery priorities.
