RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking a Resiliency Junior IT SME (Phoenix Initiative).
Duties:
* Support the disaster recovery and resiliency workstream through analysis of application recovery requirements and technical dependencies
* Assist with assessing service criticality, recovery needs, and gaps between current capabilities and target resilience objectives
* Document application recovery requirements, assumptions, and recovery procedures
* Support disaster recovery testing activities, including test preparation, evidence collection, issue tracking, and follow-up actions
* Help map dependencies across applications, infrastructure platforms, and business services
* Assist in preparing documentation and materials for governance reviews, audits, and design validation activities
* Partner with senior team members to validate technical information and maintain consistent program documentation
* Provide subject matter expertise in disaster recovery, resiliency, and operational resilience programs
* Lead the assessment of resiliency requirements for critical applications, platforms, and business services
* Evaluate current recovery capabilities and identify gaps against recovery objectives and business requirements
* Recommend remediation strategies to improve resilience, recoverability, and operational readiness
* Lead disaster recovery testing initiatives, including test planning, validation criteria, execution oversight, and results analysis
* Review application and infrastructure dependencies to ensure recovery strategies are practical, effective, and executable
* Advise stakeholders on disaster recovery frameworks, resiliency standards, governance, and best practices
* Support the design and implementation of sustainable recovery and resilience strategies aligned to organizational objectives
* Engage with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to drive resiliency initiatives and decision-making
REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-5 years of experience in disaster recovery, operational resilience, infrastructure, application support, risk management, or related areas
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
* Familiarity with disaster recovery testing and business continuity practices
* Experience supporting technical assessments and cross-functional initiatives
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications (Senior):
* 8+ years of experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, operational resilience, infrastructure architecture, or related disciplines
* Experience leading disaster recovery programs, testing initiatives, and recovery planning efforts
* Deep understanding of recovery objectives (RTO/RPO), resiliency frameworks, governance, and risk management principles
* Experience working with complex enterprise application and infrastructure environments
* Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
* Financial services, regulated industry, or large enterprise experience preferred
Preferred Skills (Both Levels):
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments)
* Knowledge of infrastructure resiliency, backup and recovery, business continuity, and operational risk management
* Understanding of enterprise application architecture and service dependencies
* Experience supporting large-scale technology transformation or modernization initiatives
* Familiarity with governance, audit, regulatory, or risk management processes
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
