Summary

An industry-leading manufacturer of precision instrumentation is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join its engineering team. In this highly visible role, you'll lead the design and development of next-generation sensing and instrumentation products used in the semiconductor, medical device, and industrial automation industries. This is a hands-on engineering position where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges, develop innovative electronics, and drive products from concept through production.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing precision analog electronics, embedded systems, and sensor technologies. You'll take ownership of electrical architecture, troubleshoot complex system issues, and work closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and product teams to deliver high-performance products. This role offers significant technical ownership and the opportunity to influence future product roadmaps.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master's or PhD preferred)
  • 12+ years of electrical engineering experience developing commercial products
  • Strong background in precision analog and low-noise electronics
  • Experience designing sensor and instrumentation systems
  • Extensive experience with embedded microprocessors and embedded hardware
  • Proven experience developing products from concept through production release
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing, validation, and hardware debugging
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOM management, engineering documentation, and ECOs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with vacuum sensing technologies or vacuum systems
  • Semiconductor capital equipment industry experience
  • Medical device instrumentation experience
  • Precision measurement or sensor technology background
  • Cross-functional experience working with firmware, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing
  • Experience leading technical projects or engineering teams
What You Will Be Doing
  • Design and develop next-generation electronics for precision sensing products
  • Develop new electrical architectures that improve product performance, size, and cost
  • Perform circuit design, testing, validation, and product characterization
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and system-level issues to identify root causes
  • Lead electrical engineering efforts on cross-functional product development teams
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams
  • Support new product introduction and production releases
  • Define technical roadmaps for future product improvements
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across development projects
