We are a well-established law firm primarily known for insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, premises liability, first-party property defense, construction defect, and bad faith litigation work. We represent insurers, healthcare entities, and corporate clients across Florida.

We're seeking a senior-level Lead Legal Assistant in our Coral Gables office. This role will support attorneys handling medical malpractice, premises liability, general liability, and third-party property matters. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation support experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level litigation support to attorneys handling complex insurance defense matters
  • Draft, revise, and finalize pleadings, discovery, motions, notices, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Coordinate electronic filings in Florida state and federal courts
  • Organize and maintain case files, medical records, exhibits, and litigation documents
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and vendors
  • Assist with trial preparation, binders, exhibits, scheduling, and logistics
  • Serve as a senior resource within the legal support team and help maintain workflow organization

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of legal assistant experience in insurance defense litigation
  • Strong experience in medical malpractice and/or general liability defense preferred
  • Familiarity with third-party property and premises liability matters is highly valued
  • Excellent understanding of Florida court procedures and e-filing systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong proofreading and document formatting abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented demeanor

The ideal candidate will bring strong insurance defense experience, with a background supporting matters involving medical malpractice, third-party property claims, general liability, and/or premises liability litigation.
