Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Medical Malpractice Legal Assistant to support attorneys handling complex medical malpractice and healthcare-related litigation matters in our Coral Gables office.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, litigation-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling medical malpractice matters
Draft, revise, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence
Assist with all aspects of case management, including maintaining electronic and physical case files
Coordinate and manage court filings (state and federal), including e-filing and docket management
Track and calendar critical deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
Request, organize, summarize, and manage medical records, billing records, and expert materials
Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit lists, trial notebooks, subpoenas, and logistics
Support attorneys with compliance filings, expert disclosures, and discovery tracking

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience as a legal assistant or litigation assistant, with medical malpractice experience required
Working knowledge of Florida civil procedure, court rules, and litigation deadlines
Experience handling medical records, HIPAA authorizations, and medical chronologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with litigation and document management systems preferred
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor and strong commitment to client service and confidentiality
