Client: healthcare company
Job: Desktop Support Technician
Duration: 3-month contract to hire
Location: on-site supporting office around Plainview, NY (mileage is reimbursed)
Pay: $25-$30/hr W2

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Travel Help Desk Technician to provide technical support and assistance to our end-users. This role involves traveling to & from various offices in the Plainview area to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, answering inquiries, and ensuring that IT systems are functioning smoothly. The ideal candidate will be patient, solution-oriented, and able to communicate technical information to non-technical users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to help desk requests via phone, email, or ticketing system and provide timely resolution to hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems, escalating issues to higher-level support when necessary.
  • Install, configure, and support various software applications, operating systems, and hardware devices.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Assist with user onboarding, including setting up new equipment and configuring user accounts.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all service requests and tasks.
  • Provide remote support and assistance as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to identify recurring issues and implement solutions.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of common issues and solutions for future reference.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends, tools, and techniques to provide efficient and effective support.

Must-Haves
  • A+ or CompTIA certified required
  • Active Directory experience required
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience required
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to support offices in the area
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Required / Preferred
  • Printer support
  • Strong communication skills
  • Imaging or provisioning of laptops and/or desktops
