Quality Engineer (API Testing & Automation)
Location: Memphis, TN (Hybrid) or Fully Remote
Overview
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support the delivery of critical API-driven systems in a fast-paced, Agile environment. This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong balance of manual testing, automation, and API validation expertise. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of key platforms and services.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute functional, regression, integration, and performance tests for APIs and applications Build and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as ReadyAPI, Selenium, or similar Develop and optimize test coverage strategies across systems and workflows Create and manage test cases, scenarios, and results using test management tools such as TestRail or similar Validate API functionality through data-driven testing and SQL queries Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business analysts to improve quality and delivery outcomes Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing Strong experience testing APIs (REST and/or SOAP) Experience with test automation tools such as ReadyAPI, Selenium, or similar Solid understanding of SQL and database validation Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with test management tools such as TestRail or similar Exposure to tools such as UIPath, Jenkins, Ansible, or RPA frameworks Experience working with payment systems, financial transactions, or high-volume data environments
