System Safety Engineering Internship / Grand Prairie, TX

Job Description

As a System Safety Engineer, you'll be ensuring our products are safe for the warfighter. System Safety Engineering job duties include: Analysis and recommendation of safety criteria in system design; Hazard analysis and development of procedures to control or eliminate hazards; Software safety assessments; Hazardous material management planning and execution; Development of safety documentation; Support to operational testing and test range requirements; and participation in design reviews, customer briefings, and system safety review boards.

Basic Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering discipline such as electrical, mechanical, or related discipline.

Desired skills

-Experienced with Microsoft Office (POWERPOINT, ACCESS, WORD, EXCEL).
-Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with minimal oversight
-Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $31,616 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
