Description
We are looking for a 3D Developer to support technical design and drafting initiatives for projects based in Hopkins, Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position focuses on producing accurate visual models and engineering documentation across mechanical, piping, and electrical environments. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with CAD platforms and 3D design tools, along with the ability to convert conceptual inputs and field information into clear, build-ready documentation.
Responsibilities:
Develop precise 2D and 3D design packages for systems such as mechanical layouts, piping arrangements, and electrical schematics.
Use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and related drafting software to create, refine, and maintain technical drawings throughout active projects.
Interpret sketches, site notes, and technical source data to generate accurate plans that can be used for execution and fabrication.
Review drawings carefully to confirm alignment with project criteria, organizational drafting practices, and applicable industry requirements.
Update models and drawings as design changes occur, ensuring documentation remains current across the full project timeline.
Maintain organized drawing files, specifications, and material-related records to support version control and project coordination.
Collaborate with engineering and project stakeholders to resolve design questions and incorporate revisions efficiently.
Requirements
Hands-on experience in 3D development, drafting, or design documentation within technical or engineering-focused environments.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD for producing and modifying detailed drawings and models.
Working knowledge of 3D Studio Max, 3D modeling, 3D illustration, and motion graphics concepts.
Ability to translate complex technical input into accurate and well-structured visual documentation.
Familiarity with mechanical, piping, and electrical drawing conventions and standards.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage revisions and maintain document accuracy.
Effective organizational and communication skills to support cross-functional project work.
