Job Description: Network Engineer Associate

Position Summary

The Network Engineer Associate is responsible for supporting the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of an organization's network infrastructure. This role assists in ensuring network availability, performance, and security while providing technical support for network-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of LAN, WAN, wireless, and network devices.
  • Monitor network performance and availability to ensure reliable operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Perform routine network maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities.
  • Assist in implementing network security policies and access controls.
  • Monitor network logs and respond to incidents as directed.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and inventory records.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to support network projects and issue resolution.
  • Provide technical support to end users for network-related problems.
  • Follow organizational standards, security policies, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing and switching.
  • Familiarity with network devices from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or similar.
  • Understanding of network security fundamentals, including firewalls and VPNs.
  • Basic knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
  • Experience with wireless networking and cloud networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Exposure to network automation or scripting is an advantage.
