Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless delivery, reliability, and security of our enterprise applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a broad IT generalist background with deep understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, application support, and infrastructure management. You will be playing a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust technology solutions that support our strategic initiatives, while also ensuring the continuous availability and integrity of our systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • DevOps & CI/CD Support: Provide expert assistance to development teams on Gitlab, including version control, merge conflicts, and access management. Design, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with the Enterprise team to optimize development and deployment workflows.
  • Enterprise Application & Platform Support: Lead the upgrade and maintenance efforts for key enterprise applications such as Blueprint, Tasktop, Jira, PowerCenter, and Informatica MDM. Proactively identify and mitigate critical and high-severity vulnerabilities to ensure system integrity and security.
  • Daily Operations & Reliability: Oversee and execute daily operational tasks to guarantee the continuous availability and reliability of all supported systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for operational support, delivering timely resolutions, clear communication, and implementing proactive monitoring strategies.
  • InRule Environment Support: Manage the installation, configuration, and validation of InRule environments across Development (DEV) and Quality Assurance (QA) stages. Coordinate with relevant teams for non-production and future production environment readiness.
  • Application Deployment & Configuration: Execute and manage the deployment and configuration of FHS/HRS Java applications and APIs.
  • ETL Job Management & Scheduling: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ETL job failures, performance, and operational constraints (OpCons).
  • Middleware & Infrastructure Support: Provide comprehensive support for HRS-related products, including installation, setup, and configuration. Diagnose and resolve high-availability issues, such as MongoDB replica set failures and ActiveMQ active/passive failures, to minimize downtime.
  • Vulnerability Management & Remediation: Drive and support critical and high-severity vulnerability remediation efforts across key enterprise platforms.
  • Strategic Initiative Support: Work collaboratively within a team of problem solvers to address complex business issues from strategy through execution. Design and implement technology infrastructure, develop and enhance applications, and provide tools that align with strategic initiatives.
  • Application Support Lifecycle: Address defects and enhancements as part of the application support lifecycle and participate in incident resolution post-implementation.

 

 

Consultants may be eligible to telecommute for more than 50% of their work hours, up to and including 100% remote work. Telecommuting arrangements require direct manager approval and are subject to change based on program needs. Consultants approved for 100% remote work must attend monthly in-person meetings at the Albany office and be available for major milestone meetings as needed.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  1. Level II- More than seven (7) years of experience working on complex projects with 2 or more years in a leadership role as a DevOps Engineer
  2. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a DevOps and Middleware administration, designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab), including version control, merge conflict resolution, and access management. Must demonstrate understanding of both development and operational aspects of the software cycle, business process management, and API management products.
  3. Minimum of two (2) years working in an Integrated Eligibility System Program in various workstreams including Data Management and Share Services in a Health and Human Service settings.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Two or more years of experience supporting and maintaining enterprise level applications such as Blueprint, Tasktop, Jira, Informatica, PowerCenter, or Informatica MDM, including upgrade/maintenance efforts and high-severity vulnerability remediation.
  2. Two or more years of experience in managing InRule environments (installation, configuration, validation across DEV/QA) and deploying FHS/HRS Java applications, including ETL job troubleshooting and scheduling (OpCons)
  3. Two or more years of experience administering middleware, databases, and messaging systems in high availability configurations, including diagnosing and resolving MongoDB replica set failures and Active MQ active/passive failures.
