Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Developer with deep expertise in the Microsoft Power Platform to design, develop, and support enterprise reporting, analytics, and workflow automation solutions.
The successful candidate will be highly hands-on with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, working with large and complex datasets to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. This role also requires strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to independently gather requirements, lead discussions, present executive-level reporting, and drive projects forward.
The ideal candidate is a proactive developer who takes ownership, works effectively in a fast-paced enterprise environment, and stays current with modern AI-assisted development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Visual Studio Code.

Key Responsibilities:
Power BI & Enterprise Reporting

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and applications.
• Develop visually engaging dashboards that provide actionable insights to business and executive stakeholders.
• Build executive-level reporting, operational dashboards, performance reporting, and strategic analytics solutions.
• Develop reusable datasets, semantic models, reporting frameworks, and analytics components for enterprise-wide use.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical reporting solutions.
• Optimize Power BI solutions for performance, usability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) using appropriate user, group, and access-control structures.
• Support reporting initiatives related to information security, audit, compliance, controls, and governance.

 
Power Apps

• Design and develop Power Apps to streamline business processes and improve data collection.
• Build forms and applications for internal business processes, including:
  • User attestations
  • Request forms
  • Compliance forms
  • Data collection workflows
  • Other internal operational processes
• Integrate Power Apps with enterprise data sources and Power Platform services.
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure, user-friendly, and maintainable.

 
Power Automate

• Design, develop, and support Power Automate workflows for business process automation.
• Automate report and dashboard distribution through email and Microsoft Teams.
• Build workflows capable of processing high-volume business communications and transactions.
• Automate incoming email processing, attachment handling, file movement, notifications, approvals, and other business processes.
• Develop reliable and scalable automation solutions with appropriate error handling and monitoring.

 
Data & Analytics

• Design scalable data models using multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
• Work with extremely large datasets, including environments exceeding 100 million records.
• Apply data optimization and performance-tuning techniques to ensure efficient reporting and analytics.
• Develop solutions using data from sources and formats including:
  • SQL
  • JSON
  • XML
  • Excel
  • CSV
  • SharePoint
• Apply strong principles of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data transformation, and data optimization.
• Troubleshoot data, reporting, integration, and performance issues.

 
Stakeholder Management & Requirements

• Work directly with business stakeholders to understand reporting, analytics, automation, and application requirements.
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements.
• Define KPIs, KRIs, reporting metrics, and business rules.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
• Independently lead meetings, discussions, demonstrations, and requirements sessions.
• Present reporting and analytics solutions to executive and senior-level stakeholders.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Take ownership of projects and drive deliverables forward without requiring constant direction.

 
AI-Assisted Development

• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and development quality.
• Use tools such as:
  • Microsoft Copilot
  • GitHub Copilot
  • Visual Studio Code AI capabilities
• Apply AI-assisted development for coding, testing, documentation, requirements development, report development, and code reviews.
• Stay current with rapidly evolving AI and Power Platform capabilities.

Testing, Support & Documentation

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, reporting logic, data models, workflows, and application specifications.
• Investigate production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support existing enterprise reporting and automation environments.
• Recommend improvements to reporting, automation, data management, governance, and development processes.

 
Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
• Strong, recent hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Power Apps
  • Power Automate
• Advanced experience with:
  • Complex DAX
  • Power Query
  • SQL
  • Power BI dashboard and application development
• Demonstrated experience working with datasets exceeding 100 million records.
• Strong experience with data modeling, data warehousing, data transformation, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with multiple data formats and sources, including SQL, JSON, XML, Excel, CSV, and SharePoint.
• Strong understanding of Row-Level Security (RLS), access controls, permissions, and secure reporting.
• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience presenting reporting and analytics solutions to business and executive stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to independently lead meetings and drive projects forward.
