About the Role - We are seeking a highly strategic and execution-focused Senior Product Manager to lead the vision, roadmap, and delivery of our Internal Developer Platform (IDP). This role requires a strong balance of product strategy, technical understanding, agile delivery, and stakeholder management. You will collaborate with engineering, developers, and cross-functional teams to build a platform that accelerates developer productivity, improves experience, and aligns with organizational goals.
- In this role, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact, contribute to the resolution of multi-faceted engineering challenges, and influence strategic decisions across teams.
Key Responsibilities 1. Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and communicate a clear product vision and long-term strategic roadmap for the Internal Developer Platform.
- Align product direction with organizational objectives, engineering needs, and developer workflows.
- Evaluate market trends, platform engineering evolution, and internal user feedback to guide strategic decisions.
2. Backlog & Delivery Management
- Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure delivery of high-impact features.
- Balance short-term improvements with long-term platform capabilities.
- Drive timely and high-quality feature releases in collaboration with development teams.
3. Product Storytelling & Stakeholder Communication
- Create compelling product narratives that articulate the value and purpose of IDP features.
- Deliver clear, engaging presentations to leadership, engineering teams, and stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, timelines, risks, and dependencies with transparency and confidence.
4. Agile Practices & Quarterly Planning
- Lead sprint planning, sprint reviews, and agile ceremonies to ensure smooth execution.
- Manage quarterly and 6Q roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and engineering capacity.
- Guide teams in maintaining continuous delivery momentum.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner closely with developers, platform engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams.
- Gather requirements, refine priorities, and align expectations across diverse stakeholders.
- Translate technical concepts into actionable product requirements.
6. Product Performance & Metrics
- Define measurable key results (KRs) and align product success with organizational OKRs.
- Monitor platform performance, adoption, and developer productivity metrics.
- Use data-driven insights to refine roadmap and optimize overall platform impact.
7. Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering leadership to ensure feature feasibility, technical quality, and timely delivery.
- Participate in iterative discovery, solution design, and execution planning.
- Advocate for developer needs while balancing technical constraints and business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience - 8+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably in platform engineering, developer platforms, or technical product domains.
- Strong understanding of developer workflows, CI/CD practices, DevOps tools, and platform services.
- Demonstrated experience building or managing internal tools, IDPs, or developer productivity platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in defining OKRs and evaluating product KPIs.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-team technical initiatives in agile environments.
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams and drive consensus in high-ambiguity scenarios.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with modern platform engineering concepts (Backstage, golden paths, self-service tooling).
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
- Comfortable collaborating with architects, SREs, DevOps teams, and senior engineering leaders.
- Strong storytelling and product evangelism capabilities.
