OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced
Network Design Manager to lead a high-performing engineering group responsible for the planning, design, and optimization of Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) networks. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership capability, guiding teams of designers, drafters, planners, and analysts to produce scalable, high-quality network solutions.
The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical background, hands-on HFC design leadership experience, and the ability to translate complex technical objectives into clear, actionable strategies. This is a critical replacement hire, as the current HFC Design Manager is exiting the organization. The hiring leader has had success with two prior TEKsystems placements and is prioritizing strong talent within a contract-to-hire model.
Primary ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the full lifecycle of HFC network design, including node segmentation, plant extensions, capacity planning, fiber deep initiatives, and network augmentation work. Direct and mentor a team of designers, engineers, and analysts, ensuring high performance, alignment, and consistent output quality. Review, approve, and optimize network design packages to align with cost, performance, and scalability standards.
Ensure strict adherence to CAD/GIS standards, documentation accuracy, and internal compliance procedures.
Utilize data-driven insights to inform network planning decisions, capacity forecasts, and long-term design strategies.
Analyze network performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and guide architectural evolution.
Partner with senior leadership to develop annual and multi-year network expansion roadmaps.
Evaluate new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve design efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Top Required Skills- Hands-on HFC design experience, ideally in a lead or managerial capacity.

Additional Qualifications5+ years of experience in HFC network design, engineering, or planning.
2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team-lead experience.
Deep understanding of HFC architecture, design standards, and operational best practices.
Experience with design and mapping tools such as Lode Data, Bentley, ArcGIS, or AutoCAD.
Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and strong organizational discipline.
Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily on-site. Candidates should be based in, or willing to work in, the Tyler, Plano, or Georgetown markets, with occasional travel to additional areas as needed.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
