Position Overview
We are looking for a senior-level expert to design, architect, and deliver end-to-end SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) solutions. In this client-facing leadership role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution. You will lead workshops with C-level logistics executives, define global warehouse templates, and architect complex solutions within SAP S/4HANA. Whether focusing on high-level architecture or hands-on configuration leadership, you will be the trusted advisor guiding clients through their digital supply chain transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Strategy
Lead discovery workshops to assess client warehouse operations (inbound, outbound, value-added services, physical inventory) and translate business requirements into a scalable SAP EWM architecture.
Design end-to-end warehouse solutions, defining global templates for multinational rollouts while accommodating local legal and operational variations.
Architect complex warehouse processes, including cross-docking, yard management, labor management, value-added services (VAS), kitting, and handling unit management (HUM).
Define integration strategies between SAP EWM and adjacent SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, QM, TM, GTS) as well as external material handling equipment (MHE) and third-party logistics systems.
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead full-life cycle implementations from blueprinting and realization through go-live and post-implementation support.
Provide technical and functional leadership to a team of consultants and developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and project timelines.
Oversee the configuration of SAP EWM, including warehouse structure design, storage control, process-oriented storage control, and RF (Radio Frequency) framework.
Manage the integration of SAP EWM with automated warehouse systems, such as conveyors, sorters, pick-by-voice/light, and automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).
S/4HANA & Technical Expertise
Lead migration, upgrade, or new implementation projects for embedded or decentralized SAP S/4HANA EWM.
Guide the technical team in developing necessary enhancements (BADIs, PPF actions, RF screens) and reports to meet specific client requirements.
Collaborate with Basis and technical architects to ensure optimal system performance, data replication, and interface stability.
Business Transformation & Innovation
Act as a thought leader, advising clients on how to leverage SAP EWM to optimize labor productivity, increase inventory accuracy, and reduce operational costs.
Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies (AI, IoT, digital twins) into warehouse operations to drive Industry 4.0 outcomes.
Support business development efforts, including solutioning for proposals, estimating efforts, and presenting to potential clients.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 10-15+ years of SAP consulting experience, with a minimum of 5-8 years specialized in SAP EWM (SAP S/4HANA EWM strongly preferred).
