Summary

About the Role
As a Sales Engineer, you will bridge the gap between technology and business development, partnering with our Sales team to design and deliver innovative low voltage and network solutions for multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and commercial projects. You will serve as the technical expert throughout the sales cycle, translating complex concepts into clear value for clients and ensuring seamless project execution from initial assessment through deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate existing infrastructure, identify technical requirements, and inform solution design.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Project teams to develop comprehensive proposals, including network diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Scope of Work (SOW) documents.
  • Lead technical presentations and discussions with clients, property managers, and stakeholders, articulating the value and differentiators of our solutions.
  • Support the sales process by responding to RFPs/RFIs, preparing detailed technical documentation, and addressing client questions or objections.
  • Oversee project handoff, ensuring a smooth transition from signed contract to implementation, and validating that solutions meet both client needs and company objectives.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, leveraging cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence and innovation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network and low voltage systems.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, or technical implementation within the low voltage, telecommunications, or ISP industry.
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP, switching, routing) and in-building wiring (structured cabling, conduit types, retrofitting).
  • Experience designing and supporting multiple low voltage systems (e.g., access control, surveillance, IoT/Smart Home, audio/video).
  • Familiarity with managed Wi-Fi solutions, fiber technologies (GPON, XGS-PON), and related infrastructure is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, DTools, and network design tools; experience with heat mapping software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build strong client relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Education & Experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in cabling, low voltage systems, and/or network solutions.
  • Experience in client management and support, preferably in MDU environments.
  • Physical & Travel Requirements
  • Ability to conduct site walks, including climbing ladders or stairs as needed.
  • Up to 5% travel for client meetings, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Prolonged periods of desk/computer work.
