Seeking a Lead Mainframe Developer with 11+ years of experience in Mainframe.
Enterprise Cobol JCL and DB2 to lead and manage mainframe application development support and L2 production support activities
Extensive experience in Mainframe Enterprise Cobol programming and debugging.
Proficient in writing and managing Job Control Language JCL scripts for batch processing.
Strong knowledge of Mainframe DB2 database including SQL query optimization and database management.
Familiarity with IBM zOS operating system and its components Ability to analyse and improve application performance on mainframe systems.
Experience in managing and mentoring technical teams in mainframe environments.
Skilled in coordinating with cross functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support of mainframe applications.
Knowledge of CICS is beneficial for understanding transaction management and enhancing application responsiveness.
Experience in implementing best practices and standards for mainframe development and support
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical issues related to mainframe applications.
Proven expertise in L2 production support including incident management root cause analysis and timely resolution of issues to minimize downtime.
Ability to monitor production systems proactively and implement preventive measures to ensure high availability and reliability.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and manage the mainframe application development and support team.
Oversee the design development and deployment of mainframe batch jobs using JCL.
Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of DB2 databases including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Monitor application performance and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Provide L1 and L2 support for mainframe applications including troubleshooting incident management and resolving production issues.
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring production problems and implement corrective actions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for technical processes support activities and application configurations.
Coordinate with development QA and operations teams to resolve defects and implement enhancements.
Conduct regular team meetings to review progress discuss challenges and plan activities.
Mentor and train junior team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies standards and regulatory requirements related to mainframe systems.
