ETL Developer – IBM DataStage

We are seeking a skilled ETL Developer specializing in IBM DataStage to support, monitor, and maintain ETL processes used across Finance and Regulatory Reporting functions.

The role involves maintenance, production support, job monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and working closely with upstream and downstream teams to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant data processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor IBM DataStage Director / Operations Console to ensure smooth execution of daily, monthly, and quarterly ETL workloads.

• Manage job schedules using Huntington Bank’s enterprise scheduling tools (Zena).

• Ensure adherence to SLAs for all Finance and Regulatory Reporting job cycles.

• Provide L2/L3 support for ETL job failures, including:

  • Error analysis

  • Job restarts

  • Issue resolution

• Perform root cause analysis for incidents such as:

  • Source file corruption

  • Network connectivity drops

  • Database locks or deadlocks

• Document incident recovery steps and preventive actions.

• Optimize ETL jobs through efficient use of:

  • Partitioning techniques (Hash, Range, Entire, Auto)

  • Buffer tuning

  • Memory configuration

  • Parallel processing best practices

• Work with DBAs to maintain performance of source and target databases by ensuring:

  • Indexes are updated

  • Statistics are refreshed

  • Tablespace/storage issues are resolved

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on IBM DataStage development and support experience

• Strong SQL skills

• Experience with Snowflake and Oracle databases

• Experience supporting Finance or Regulatory Reporting ETL workloads

• Solid understanding of ETL performance tuning and parallelism concepts

• Experience in production support, job monitoring, and incident management

• Knowledge of job scheduling tools (Control-M preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with a banking client

• Familiarity with regulatory reporting domains, such as:

  • FRY9C

  • FFIEC

• Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure or AWS)

• Experience with Data Quality, Metadata, or Data Governance systems
