Position: UKG Integration Developer
Fully Remote Role
Duration: 12 + months
Position Summary
The Integration Developer designs, builds, tests and supports the interfaces and data flows between UKG Pro WFM and Client enterprise systems - principally UCPath (PeopleSoft) for people and payroll, IBM Maximo for labor billing, and clock/identity systems - working with the UKG Integration Consultant. The developer owns Client-side integration build on UKG Integration Hub / Boomi, the inventory and retirement of legacy WFC WIM interfaces, and the technical side of data conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements: work with stakeholders, the UKG Integration Consultant and third-party vendors to gather and analyze interface requirements, including file automation and data-exchange services.
- Inventory and design: inventory the existing WFC interfaces (WIM/Connect, exports, scheduled jobs), decide with the Product SME which are retired, consolidated or rebuilt, and design their Pro WFM replacements; author the sections of the integration/interface design document.
- Build: develop and configure inbound and outbound integrations - people/HR from UCPath, payroll hours and pay codes to UCPath, labor hours and cost-center detail to IBM Maximo for labor billing, labor levels, accrual balances, schedules and punches - using UKG Integration Hub / Boomi, UKG REST APIs and SFTP file exchange.
- Technical data mapping and conversion: own field-level mapping, translations and default values (functional code mapping is owned by the Product SME); build, run and validate conversion loads for employees, accrual balances and historical data.
- Planning: break complex requirements into tasks; assess feasibility and technical risk; raise issues early.
- Testing: unit-test all integrations; support SIT, parallel payroll and UAT run by the QA / Test Analyst; resolve integration defects.
- Operations readiness: implement error handling, monitoring, alerting and reconciliation reporting for each integration so UCLA support staff can operate them after stabilization.
- Documentation and knowledge transfer: create technical and operational documentation for each interface and hand over to UCLA support staff before the engagement ends.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of software / integration development experience, including hands-on work on Kronos/UKG workforce-management integrations.
- Experience building and supporting UKG Pro WFM integrations on Boomi / UKG Integration Hub, UKG REST APIs and SFTP-based data exchange.
- Experience with Kronos/UKG data: people, labor levels, pay codes, punches, timecards, accrual balances and schedules, including payroll exports and HR/people imports.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL).
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Java, Python, Groovy, Node.js) and in data formats (JSON, XML, CSV, fixed-width).
- Experience with SFTP, file automation and scheduling, and secure handling of PII and payroll data.
- Working knowledge of the SDLC, Agile practices and Git.
