Calibration Specialist

Location: Littleton, Colorado

Role Overview

An opportunity exists for a Calibration Specialist to ensure the precision and reliability of high-tech manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for performing, documenting, and managing the calibration of critical Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machinery. The position involves maintaining compliance with industry standards, supporting audits, and training personnel on best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily, weekly, and periodic calibrations of critical SMT equipment, including vision systems, nozzle pressure, feeder positioning, and reflow oven temperature zones.
  • Maintain traceable calibration records in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and AS9100 requirements.
  • Conduct equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new or upgraded machines and document results.
  • Generate calibration deviation reports and coordinate corrective actions with engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Train line operators on proper self-check procedures and maintaining calibration integrity.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing evidence of calibration compliance.
Required Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree or higher in Metrology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a certified technical program.

Experience: 3+ years calibrating SMT or high-precision manufacturing equipment.

Certifications: ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Technician certification, or Certified Metrology Technician (CMT).

Technical Skills: Proficiency with laser interferometers, multimeters, thermal cameras, and pressure gauges. Knowledge of statistical calibration methods (Gage R&R, Repeatability & Reproducibility).

Software: Experience with calibration management tools such as Minitab, SPC, or proprietary LIMS.

Other: Ability to work at height and in clean-room environments; authorized to handle hazardous materials.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to traceability.
  • Documentation skills for writing clear, audit-ready calibration procedures.
  • A collaborative mindset for working with engineers, operators, and maintenance staff.
