Title: Data Architect (Onsite)

Location: Tallahassee, FL || Duration: Long-Term

Required Skills and Experience

* 5+ years of experience in Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, ETL, Synapse pipeline/Azure Data Factory, and Dedicated SQL Pools.
* 5+ years of experience in DDL, DML T-SQL skills, advanced stored procedure writing skills, tables, primary keys, foreign keys, constraints, indexes, transactions, process logging, and error handling.
* 4+ years of experience in data architecture design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
* 3+ years of experience in data governance principles and compliance requirements related to data security and privacy.
* 3+ years of experience in integrating data from various sources and managing large data pipelines.
* 2+ years of experience in cloud computing concepts, particularly in Microsoft Azure, including storage solutions and computing capabilities.
* 1+ years of Experience with programming languages such as Python.
* 1+ years of experience in LLM
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data challenges.
* Ability to design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient data architectures.
* Ability to provide excellent customer support; meticulous quality of work and work product.

Primary Responsibilities

* Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to define project scope, gather requirements, and prioritize deliverables.
* Design and implement data architectures that align with business objectives, leveraging Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, LLM integration, and related Azure data services.
* Manage and optimize Dedicated SQL Pools in Azure Synapse to support large-scale data warehousing and analytics workloads.
* Design, develop, and maintain databases using Azure SQL and Azure SQL Managed Instance, ensuring performance, scalability, availability, and security.
* Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views. Optimize database performance by analyzing queries, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing effective tuning and troubleshooting strategies to ensure reliability and efficiency.
* Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Synapse Pipelines or equivalent tools to support reliable and efficient data integration.
* Create and maintain scalable data models to support reporting, analytics, and downstream applications.
* Implement data governance practices, including data quality, lineage, and cataloging.\
* Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with applicable standards and organizational policies.
* Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency.
* Support deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines and version control for database objects.
* Maintain technical documentation, including system design, data flows, and operational procedures.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve data platform capabilities.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support cross-functional teams.

Education

* Bachelors or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Or equivalent work experience.
