Summary

Position:-Technical Business Analyst – API & Microservices

Location:- Raleigh / Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA

Preference: Local candidates strongly preferred
Type:- Contract

 

 

We are looking for a strong Technical Business Analyst with hands-on experience working in API-driven and Microservices environments. The ideal candidate should be technically strong enough to work closely with development, architecture, QA, and business teams to translate business requirements into clear technical requirements and solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with API and Microservices development teams.
  • Analyze existing APIs, integrations, data flows, and service dependencies.
  • Create detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Collaborate with architects and developers to define API requirements and integration specifications.
  • Participate in API design discussions, including request/response structures, data mapping, authentication, and error handling.
  • Understand microservices architecture, service-to-service communication, and integration patterns.
  • Create process flows, data flows, and system interaction diagrams.
  • Work with QA teams to define test scenarios and validate requirements.
  • Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Required Skills

  • Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst / IT Business Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, API integrations, and Microservices.
  • Experience documenting API requirements and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of JSON, XML, HTTP methods, status codes, and API authentication.
  • Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
  • Ability to understand technical architecture, system integrations, and data flows.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.

 

Preferred

  • Experience with Swagger / OpenAPI.
  • Experience with SQL/database analysis.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Visio/Lucidchart.
