Summary

Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer – Casting & Machining

Location: Fond du Lac, WI (USA)

40/hr on w2 WOB

 

Duties & Responsibilities

·         1. Implements quality system procedures, recommends improvements, and collaborates with team members to meet goals.

·         2. Develops initiatives focused on customer satisfaction.

·         3. Supports supplier quality activities including FMEA, Control Plans, and Capability Studies.

·         4. Offers technical expertise for purchasing.

·         5. Acts as a liaison with Briggs and Stratton on quality trends and corrective actions.

·         6. Participates in supplier development and helps improve control plans.

·         7. Analyzes product and complaint data to recommend corrective actions and eliminate defects.

·         8. Conducts supplier PPAP and secures team approval.

·         9. Completes scheduled supplier and product audits and follows up on improvements.

·         10. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

·         Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.

·         Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a quality or engineering field. Fundamental quality experience in machining or assembly type operations (or equivalent experience) is preferred.

·         Quality Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of quality practices and procedures, including Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO/QS requirements.

·         Quality Tools: Thorough knowledge of quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Plans, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), MSA, and Design of Experiments (DOE), etc.

·         Technical Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) as well as blueprint reading.

·         Engineering Skills: Proficiency in mechanical, electronics, or assembly manufacturing processes along with solid troubleshooting skills.

·         Communication: Proven ability to prepare and interpret technical information. Good interpersonal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people. Ability to solve practical problems and quality issues/problems.

·         Language Skills: Fluency in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility is essential.

·         Location/Mobility: Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location.
