Candidate must report to Harris Health (onsite) 2-3 times per year in Houston, Texas

Position Overview

Our hospital client is seeking an experienced Epic Radiology Analyst to support the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of the organization’s Epic Radiant application. This role will partner closely with Radiology leadership, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure Epic Radiant effectively supports diagnostic imaging workflows and patient care.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Epic Radiant, radiology clinical workflows, system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and end-user support. Experience participating in Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and integrated workflows with other Epic applications is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the configuration, maintenance, optimization, and ongoing support of the Epic Radiant application.
  • Analyze radiology workflows and translate clinical and operational requirements into effective Epic solutions.
  • Partner with Radiology leadership, physicians, technologists, nurses, and other clinical stakeholders to identify workflow improvements and system enhancements.
  • Configure Epic Radiant functionality based on organizational requirements and Epic best practices.
  • Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, system enhancements, testing, and optimization initiatives.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot application issues, determine root causes, and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
  • Develop and execute test scripts for new functionality, enhancements, upgrades, and integrated workflows.
  • Support integrated workflows between Radiant and other Epic applications, including Orders, ClinDoc, Prelude, Cadence, ASAP, MyChart, and ancillary systems, as applicable.
  • Collaborate with interface and integration teams to support radiology-related interfaces and downstream systems.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, workflow design, build, testing, validation, and deployment activities.
  • Create and maintain application documentation, workflow specifications, test scripts, and support procedures.
  • Provide application support and troubleshooting for end users and escalate complex issues when appropriate.
  • Assist with training materials and support end-user education related to Epic Radiant functionality.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for workflow and application optimization.
  • Participate in change management and communicate system changes effectively to affected stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness of Epic functionality, industry best practices, and emerging opportunities to improve radiology workflows.
  • Participate in an on-call or after-hours support rotation, if required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Clinical Informatics, Radiologic Sciences, or a related field; equivalent healthcare IT experience may be considered.
  • Epic Radiant certification or equivalent hands-on Epic Radiant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting, configuring, implementing, or optimizing Epic Radiant or a comparable radiology information system.
  • Strong understanding of radiology and diagnostic imaging workflows.
  • Experience with application configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and end-user support.
  • Experience working directly with clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to translate clinical requirements into technical application solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a full Epic implementation, optimization, upgrade, or major system conversion.
  • Current Epic Radiant certification.
  • Experience supporting integrated Epic workflows involving Orders, ClinDoc, Cadence, Prelude, MyChart, and/or other Epic applications.
  • Experience with radiology interfaces and integration with PACS, modalities, RIS, and other imaging systems.
  • Understanding of DICOM and HL7 interfaces is a plus.
  • Experience working in an academic medical center, large health system, or complex hospital environment.
  • Previous experience as a radiologic technologist, imaging professional, or radiology workflow specialist is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Epic testing tools, release management, and change control processes.
  • Experience leading optimization initiatives and workflow redesign projects.

This individual will be comfortable working at the intersection of clinical operations, radiology workflows, and healthcare technology, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve system functionality and the overall user experience.
